AI & Automation Associate
Are you already using AI every day to build things - experimenting with automations, AI tools and rapid prototyping to work faster and smarter - and want to apply those skills to accelerate the transition to renewable energy?
Welcome to Alight. We’re an entrepreneurial Independent Power Producer (IPP) on a mission to kick carbon off the grid by helping businesses switch to solar and batteries from day one.
Since Q3-2025, we’ve taken significant strides in our AI journey to accelerate the energy transition. With 20+ Gen-AI use cases deployed across the organization, robust processes and governance in place, and best-in-class AI adoption, you’ll be joining an agile and innovative company. Here, AI is being deployed at pace to do good.
To take the next stride in our AI journey, we’re now looking for a full-time AI & Automation Associate. This is a hands-on role where you’ll together with various stakeholders across the business identify, evaluate and deploy AI and Automation use-cases to accelerate our sustainable growth.
Your impact
You’ll help us further accelerate our impact from AI and automation by:
Identifying, evaluating, testing, and deploying high-impact AI and automation opportunities across the business. This will include automated workflows, dashboards, and AI agents across the company.
Helping spread AI-first ways of working through demos, workshops, and hands-on support to various teams
Together with our wider IT and business teams connect systems and data sources to reduce manual work and improve decision-making
In your first 6 months, success means that you have taken multiple already drafted high-impact use-cases from idea to deployment. You have developed our process for how we move from idea to implementation in clear, repeatable way.
We’re looking for you
To thrive here, you need to be comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and learning by doing rather than waiting for the perfect moment or structure to advance.
You are AI-first, curious and pragmatic. You enjoy understanding how work actually gets done across a business, spotting inefficiencies and quickly testing solutions that make things simpler, faster and smarter.
This is not a strategy or coordination-only role. You’ll be hands-on from day one - building automations, connecting tools, testing AI workflows, and helping teams adopt what you create. Some things will work immediately, others won’t. That’s expected.
What you bring
Recent graduate in computer science, engineering or business, with a mix of technical problem-solving and business understanding
Hands-on experience creating automations, workflows, scripts or AI-powered solutions (through projects, studies, internships or work experience)
Ability to quickly understand business problems and translate them into practical improvements
Familiarity with data, APIs or databases
Curious mindset to quickly grasp new AI and automation opportunities as tools develop

But there are also a lot of spontaneous activities driven by our employees!
Each quarter we also have "Alight Next," our company-wide meetup, a two-day strategy day with workshops, lectures, and team building in which we focus on the next quarter. We also always have some fun activities planned during those meetup days, examples being ski trips, sailing, dinners, and parties
