Structured Finance & Investment Associate
Do you enjoy building and owning complex financial models—and want to use that skill set to accelerate the transition to renewable energy?
Welcome to Alight! We’re an entrepreneurial Solar and BESS IPP (Independent Power Producer) with a clear mission: to kick carbon off the grid by helping businesses switch to solar & batteries from day one.
As a Structured Finance Associate, you will be at the heart of how we finance and grow Alight’s portfolio of solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. Your primary focus will be on structuring, analysing, and securing third-party financing, while also contributing to investment evaluation and execution. You’ll work hands-on with financial analysis and debt transactions from early-stage structuring through to closing, in a role that is highly analytical, model-driven, and collaborative across teams and external partners.
Our headquarters are in Stockholm and most of our operations are in the Nordics, so being based in the region is a plus—but you can work remotely from anywhere in Europe or from any of our other office in Gothenburg, Malmö, Helsinki, Paris, or Madrid.
Your impact
You will be instrumental in shaping how Alight funds and scales its projects by:
Driving financing and investment workstreams from initial structuring and screening through execution.
Owning and producing core deliverables such as financing models, structure analyses, valuations, and investment materials.
Contributing to a strong, knowledge-driven team by sharing insights and continuously improving how we structure, model, and execute transactions.
While your primary focus will be structured finance, you will also be involved in the broader investment process and cycle.
Key responsibilities
Financial modelling: Build, own, and refine detailed project finance and valuation models; act as a go-to resource within the team for financing and capital structure analysis.
Structured finance raising: Support and lead the structuring and raising of third-party debt and equity at project and portfolio level, including senior non-recourse project finance, junior debt and other financing instruments.
Investment analysis: Assess new opportunities in solar PV and storage across Alight’s markets, with a particular focus on bankability and financing feasibility.
Transaction execution: Support and lead workstreams cross-functionally across valuation, due diligence, financing, structuring, documentation (PPA, EPC, LMA-style financing agreements), and closing.
Stakeholder management: Engage with lenders, investors, and advisors throughout transactions, including in negotiations and ongoing relationship management.
We’re looking for you
You have a strong foundation in investments and/or financing and are comfortable taking full ownership of your workstreams from start to finish. You enjoy working in Excel, tackling complex problems, and collaborating with colleagues across teams and functions. You combinesharp analytical skills with a commercial mindset and can communicate your insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You will likely have 2–6 years of experience, gained in environments such as a Big Four, bank or advisory firm (withproject finance / infrastructure focus ) or an infrastructure fund or renewable developer/independent power producer (IPP).
