As our BESS Revenue Optimizer, you’ll be central to guiding how Alight models, optimizes, and operates batteries across Europe. Your work will directly influence how our hybrid solar + storage projects are structured, dispatched, and monetized — laying the foundation for Alight’s journey into the next generation of clean energy. This is an opportunity to truly shape the commercial strategy of our battery portfolio and make a lasting impact on the energy transition.
Your impact
In this role, you will model and evaluate how battery storage assets generate value, ensuring our projects meet the highest commercial standards. You’ll analyze the full revenue stack — from arbitrage and ancillary services to merchant strategies and load shifting — translating market dynamics into actionable insights. Over time, you’ll help us define best practices for dispatch and portfolio integration, setting the standard for how Alight maximizes value from storage.
KEY OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead modeling of expected and historical BESS revenues across markets and services
- Assess revenue stacking opportunities to maximize returns and reduce portfolio risks
- Support investment decisions with revenue modeling and commercial insights
- Track and interpret market and regulatory developments impacting storage revenues
- Collaborate internally across investment and operations to integrate batteries into Alight’s portfolio strategy
- Manage relationships with BSPs/BRPs and oversee dispatch/operations as neede
We’re looking for you
We believe you’re an energy markets professional with a strong commercial mindset who thrives at the intersection of technology, modeling, and operations. You don’t need decades of experience — what matters most is your ability to turn data into business value and your passion for driving the energy transition.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of experience in the energy sector, with hands-on exposure to BESS, energy markets, or trading
- Strong understanding of revenue stacking: arbitrage, ancillary services, frequency containment, solar load shifting
- Proven ability to model and analyze grid-connected batteries in active power markets
- Familiarity with BSP/BRP operations (experience is a plus, not a prerequisite)
- Strong analytical and commercial mindset, connecting technical performance with financial outcomes
- Solid knowledge of dispatch optimization, degradation, and risk management in merchant markets
- Advanced Excel skills; Python/R or Power BI is a strong plus
- Clear communicator, collaborative team player, and proactive problem solver

As an Alighter, you’ll have 30 days of paid vacation and the option to exchange public holiday days for other days off. We also offer market-leading insurance programs for all our employees, together with an annual wellness allowance of €500 (5000 SEK).
