Finance Intern
Our Finance team is on the lookout for a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join us full-time during the summer (June–August), with the possibility of continuing part-time after August.
Alight's purpose is to accelerate the world’s transition to renewable energy sources. We do this by helping businesses switch to solar energy and save money from day 1. Simply put, we finance, build, and manage solar assets, both on-site and off-site, and sell the electricity generated for a fixed price to large corporations in the form of Power Purchase Agreements.
This is a paid internship/extra job offered as hourly employment—ideal for students eager to gain hands-on experience in finance during the summer, with the opportunity to continue part-time during the academic term.
Your impact
In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting the finance team with administrative tasks, including document management, financial reporting, and process support to ensure smooth and compliant financial operations.
- Organize Financial Records: Manage both physical and electronic filing systems to ensure accurate and accessible documentation of invoices, financial records, and related materials.
- Support Financial Reporting: Assist in the creation and analysis of ad-hoc financial reports to help drive data-informed decisions.
- Participate in Closings: Contribute to month-end and quarter-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Expense Review: Review employee expenses and support various accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
- Maintain Compliance: Organize and maintain accounting documents in line with retention policies and regulatory standards.
- ERP System Assistance: Help develop templates and generate reports in our ERP system (Netsuite)
- Data Accuracy: Gather and review financial data to ensure completeness and accuracy in reporting.
This is a great opportunity to develop your skills, work closely with experienced professionals, and gain valuable insight into the inner workings of a dynamic finance department.

At Alight, you’ll make a real, tangible impact on a global scale by accelerating the transition to a fossil fuel-free world. Your work will be more than a job; it will be a meaningful contribution to ensuring the sustainability of our planet.
-
We’re proud to have a flat and autonomous organizational culture where everyone takes accountability for their own work. You'll have the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in Europe, or you can decide to work hybrid/fully onsite at one of our offices in Stockholm, Madrid, Gothenburg, Paris or Malmö. We’ll support your home office setup, including subsidies for equipment like adjustable desks and office chairs.
-
To ensure we attract the best talent out there, we don't limit ourselves to a specific location. Alighters are based across Europe and our diverse backgrounds and skills complement each other well.
We know that having a diverse team drives better collective decisions and superior business performance. Today our gender split is 44/56, with 15 nationalities and employees in 6 countries.
-
At Alight, you’ll be a part of an entrepreneurial culture in which you’re encouraged to “think like an owner,” which means that we trust you to call the shots and excel in your role. Many Alighters are also shareholders, and we believe in giving our employees incentives to create the best possible impact.
Historically we’ve regularly had warrant/option programs that give our employees the option to own a part of Alight. We also give our employees the option to buy shares when the opportunity arises (e.g. when any of our owners sells shares, we're not a listed company).
-
As an Alighter, you’ll have 30 days of paid vacation and the option to exchange public holiday days for other days off. We also offer market-leading insurance programs for all our employees, together with an annual wellness allowance of €500 (5000 SEK).
At our HQ in Stockholm, we also have weekly activities like lunch runs and Thursday yoga sessions.
-
While we take our role in driving the green transition seriously, we know how to have fun. We believe that a positive team spirit enhances our collective impact. Some examples of planned activities are Friday breakfast every second week, Guest lecturers with dinner, team dinners, and sports activities. But there are also a lot of spontaneous activities driven by our employees!
Each quarter we also have "Alight Next," our company-wide meetup, a two-day strategy day with workshops, lectures, and team building in which we focus on the next quarter. We also always have some fun activities planned during those meetup days, examples being ski trips, sailing, dinners, and parties
-
We’re committed to helping you grow and embrace new areas of responsibility, whether vertically or horizontally.
It’s common for our team members to be promoted to leadership roles or transition into entirely new domains. We have structured career coaching, internal training programs, performance reviews, and goal-setting frameworks to help you develop your career.
